Review of Poynte’s One More Day EP.

If you enjoy catchy, singable modern rock; You may want to ask yourself what rock have you been living under when you hear Poynte. The Atlanta, GA area has spawned many great acts over the years, including The Black Crowes, R.E.M., The B-52′s, Sevendust, Mastodon, Stereomud and Baroness. All have worked their way to respectable careers in their genres. Poynte is no different. Having paid their dues over the last 4 years has set the stage to launch themselves out of Atlanta and onto a much bigger map. Their new EP, titled One More Day will be released on January 21st at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Atlanta. If you are in the area, I suggest making the show. The first 1000 copies of the EP will have the bonus song Coping included.

One More Day features all the big harmonies, great riffs, killer drums and the song structure you would expect from a band on the verge of something special. From the opening title track One More Day to the bonus track Coping, this disc delivers. The only drawback is I want more Poynte! One More Day was produced by Mike Froedge (doubleDrive, Bloodsimple, Black Label Society, The Dreaded Marco) and Nina Baldridge at Open Sky Studios in Atlanta. The EP contains 4 tracks and the aforementioned Coping.
